The walking dead spinoffs

Anybody watching any of them? Loved the first few seasons of TWD then lost interest a bit but finished it after all episodes had aired.

Thought I should give the spinoffs a shot. Watching the Daryl one at the moment and (aside from the fact he’s somehow ended up in France being a bit weird - probably no less realistic than zombies, though) I’m enjoying it. Nearly finished season one then will watch two and try out the other shows.

I also struggled to finish the original run, to the extent that I didn't.

I got up to... Well they were in the prison, and there were zombies. The narrows it down. I think some long time semi important character might have gotten executed by the bad guy of the moment, and it just went meh after that?

I'm feeling any spin off is just going to be more of the same. Unless it's entirely fresh characters not doing anything related to the others, but it still seems to boil down to "make camp, get run out of it, make another camp, get betrayed and leave camp, make another camp."

That was pretty early on if you only saw Herschel get deaded.

I stopped watching after a while as well, but made it much further along than you. The last episode I watched was when they put Negan in jail. I can't force myself to go back to it at this point either.

I watched a bit of Fear the Walking Dead and had to stop that too. Just became a bit much and I lost interest in it. Daryl was always one of the best characters though, so maybe his series would be better.
