Hello!

Recently 8 players have participated in a draft of every Genesis game, and now we need to determine a winner.

As we continue to refine this game, we will continue to make tweaks to the formula. A change starting with this round: If you were a competitor, please do not vote for yourself.

There are three lists that stand out for me: Rick, Crystal and Tubby. Makes it quite difficult to choose between them. I have to go with Tubby in the end. NHL 94 and MJ Moonwalker were huge parts of my childhood.

I think the winning list should have NO Sonic game. Too damn cliche. Like any Nintendo list shouldn't contain a Mario game. Maybe that's just me though. Just like my Presidential votes, they don't matter anyway.

Alright… I’m gonna give this one to @Cole because his list covers more of my personal favorites. I spent so much time playing games like the Sonic, Ecco, and Strike series that I had to pick his list.

@shortkut ties for second with his inclusion of Sonic 2, MKII, NBA Jam, Golden Axe, and Streets of Rage. Seems odd giving him a second place tie while mentioning more of his games than Cole’s, but I’m considering time spent playing (replay value or difficulty) as a deciding factor to help me.

@Fool's Requiem also ties for second with Comix Zone, Earthworm Jim, Virtua Racing, and Panic on Funkotron. Funkotron ALMOST put him at first, but Cole’s inclusion of a game from the Strike series sealed the deal.

@Tubby23 gets third all to himself for having Desert Strike, NHL 94, ToeJam and Earl, and Battletoads. If I had to pick one list for a desert island, it would be this one for the sake of the variety.

@Jon gets fourth for Ranger X. Fuck that game, but I love it. I’m sure you understand, Jon.

@Crystal gets fifth for SoR2, Mean Bean Machine, and Road Rash 2. Three solid arcade-y games.

@VashTheStampede gets sixth for making a list of games that have solid replay value because they’re so goddamn frustrating.

@Rick52 brought up the end despite having Sonic and Maximum Carnage simply because of the OG Revenge of Shinobi. That game frustrated the hell out of me.

All in all… solid lists. Most deliberation I’ve had to go through to make a decision.

In both cases the self-votes didn't even matter. You have a really strong selection of games this time around too. I didn't realize the Mickey game was so highly rated.

I wish I could vote for both Cole and kut, but since it would feel weird not having at least one sports game, I let that break the tie and voted kut.

I didn't play a lot of different Genesis games growing up even though I actually had the system. My uncle gave me his circa 1996 and it had a small handful of games. I had a couple friends who had a Genesis, so I got a little experience with some more games, but I never felt like I got to play a wide range of Genesis classics. My favorite of the ones I had was Earthworm Jim, so shoutout to Rick for that one.

Also, I will echo (the dolphin) the sentiment that the lack of Sonic Spinball is disappointing.

I only played ghostbuster 2 for NES, which is sad because I’m a ghostbuster for Halloween today

I’m looking through add-ons, and so far the closest I’m seeing is this thread which is making me wonder if maybe we could utilize that “upvoting” feature in conjunction with polls to accomplish this?
