Eyyyyy, it's ya boi, back with another superfluous rebranding of Zell's rules.

This thread will serve as both a sign-up and quick overview of how I'm mixing this up.

I'd mentioned is a little while back but I had the idea to run a game somewhat like it was a paranormal podcast, framing events like they were reported by eyewitnesses, etc. In with that, I thought it'd add some flavor to rename some roles to align them more, and make it more than just werewolves. The roles themselves haven't been changed at all, and even if the quick summaries I've got here are ambiguous, they'll work the same as Zell's. I plan to go back through and do another pass at the descriptions to make sure they fully describe the role mechanics, but I did most of this while on company time, so... tee hee.

I'm planning to try and get creative with the presentation of the phase results, etc. too. Meaning, if I can set up a manageable workflow, I'll actually be providing audio narration instead of just text dumps. I'll probably do a test run at that later tonight and will post it for feedback, but I figure it'll take a few days for enough people to sign-up anyway.

So if you're interested please post below, and feel free to give me your feedback on the adjustments here;

Alright, thoughts?

I spent maybe an hour messing around with various tools and tried to put this 'intro' together...

1739931167995.png

"Good evening, night-dwellers, truth-seekers, and those who know—deep down—that the darkness hides more than just shadows. You're tuned in to Paranormal Prime-Time, where we dig up the stories that don't make the morning news. I'm Al, your guide through the fog of the unknown, your companion on the road to revelation.

If you like what you hear, make sure to like, subscribe, and follow, because trust me—you won't want to miss what we uncover next. And if you've got a story of your own, don't keep it to yourself. The truth is waiting, and so am I."

"Tonight, we turn our focus to Arswyd—a quiet little village tucked away in the woods, where something is watching. Something is waiting. And the people? They're starting to notice.

Let's start with Margaret Vale. Eighty-two years old. Lives alone in a trailer right on the edge of the tree line. She doesn't sleep much these days. You wouldn't either if, every night, something tapped—methodically, deliberately—on your window. Not the wind. Not a branch. A hand. A claw. Something that knows she's there. She won't open the curtains. I don't blame her.

Then there's Carter Hicks—a hunter, the kind of man who's spent decades in the woods and thought he'd seen it all. Until last week, when he sat alone in his deer stand before dawn and felt it—hot breath on the back of his neck. No sound. No footsteps. Just that impossible warmth and the certainty that something was right behind him. But when he turned? Nothing.

Arswyd's roads aren't safe either. Just ask Lisa Petrelli. Mother of three. She was driving home late when something moved into the road. Not walking. Not running. Flattened out. Crawling like a spider. She swerved, heart hammering, but when she looked in the rearview mirror—it was already gone.

And it's not just people who are in danger. Several farmers have woken up to missing livestock. No tracks, no blood. Just empty spaces where their animals should be. The strangest part? Their dogs—fierce working animals, trained to protect—refuse to stay outside after dark. They whimper at the doors, hackles raised, eyes wide with something that looks an awful lot like fear.

Coincidence? Hysteria? Or something else?

I'll tell you this—I don't believe in accidents. There's a pattern here, and I intend to find it. Something is stalking Arswyd. Something ancient. Something hungry.

And I promise you this, listeners—we're going to find out what.

This is Paranormal Prime-Time. Keep your lights on. Keep your doors locked. And whatever you do…

Don't. Look. Outside.

Until next time, stay safe… if you can."

I needed a town name, and my first thought of translating "horror" to Welsh gave me Arswyd. Totally pronouncing it "arse-weird", because lol.

My main concern is how quickly I'll be able to slap these together, especially if people do something I don't expect and I have to pivot. IF this is something interesting enough you want me to make audio for it, I might just create an hour or two buffer between the phases ending and me starting the next one.

In case you actually didn't read anything in this thread and missed it, scroll up. Or just click this link idk.

I'm going to put some effort into actually presenting this in a fun way, but only if it's actually going to be worth it for y'all. Otherwise I'm just wasting my time.

I mean, I acknowledge this does nothing for the having to read the thread and what other people post, but I'd plan on giving all the phase updates, etc. with an accompanying fake-podcast.

I really didn't read anything (I will, I just don't have the time to dedicate to it right now).

The "huh" was in response to "listen." I don't listen to anyone! Not even me! Or me!

If I change the rebranding of the roles a little, and add in a Vampire somewhere, would Christina play?
Sorry this notification has been sitting for me to come to as I procrastinate because I'm fighting off mad anxiety lately for some weird reason.

I'll play, even if there aren't vampires.

Usually if I don't have time to follow a wolf game completely, I skim most of the shit-posting and give more priority to the GM's post. Then if I'm ever confused on what's going on or why a Thing was done, I'll go back and take another look at the pages I skimmed. So either way I'm sure I'll enjoy your posts, sounds really fun! :)

I think I was used to the feeling of stuff just not getting fixed and slowly over time it would just deteriorate.

The everything we have worked for over the last 150 years is just being torn down in months and there is no plan to replace it with anything by a bunch of people who think they are geniuses but are really just idiots with a lot of money, is a big change for me.

then 2020 happened, and then 2025 happened.

Depression isn't going to be on a downturn for a while.
I assume 100 years ago people didn't use "great" to mean anything but "very large", because now days "the great depression" comes off as a fun time.

Nope. We're on our way to a "nocap frfr depression" this time.

No wonder we try to live vicariously in a village where we can actually kill the ghouls who threaten our livelihood. Luigi was the only one out here playing Gunner and revealing his role in real life.
