From what I remember, it was a simple dedicated off-site server. Anytime he referred to server maintenance, he made it seem like it was something the host had to do and he could only do site admin stuff. Not unlike what happened here, when we’d exceed the capabilities, we’d add more hamsters until we couldn’t fit anymore on the wheel and then eventually he had to migrate to totally new hardware. I only remember one time that we moved servers entirely, and that was right before the vB3 upgrade.
