Multi Sea of Stars

Is anyone else here as excited for Sea of Stars as I am?

I know it's coming to the PS Plus Catalog Day 1 and I believe it's coming to Game Pass as well.

I'm a sucker for "vintage" style games that tug at nostalgia and I get serious Chrono Trigger vibes from this.

Yup I've been following them since the beginning and can't wait for it. It's the only reason I haven't bought baldurs gate 3. It's been my most anticipated game this year.

It seems like the perfect switch game but I don't know what console to get it on. The PS5 is my ideal set up but I picture laying in bed playing this game.

I see the appeal of Switch. I'm doing PS5 cause it's all I have and it'll be "free".

Sea of Stars physical edition launches in early 2024

iam8bit will release a physical edition of Sabotage Studio-developed turn-based RPG Sea of Stars in early 2024, the companies announced.

I've heard about this game every now and again since the Kickstarter (which I didn't get around to making an account for lol), but always manage to forget about it again soon after. Will definitely play it at some point, but release timing isn't the best.

Looks absolutely gorgeous, though!

Im pretty excited, I enjoyed the Messenger, wont be getting this right away, I need to finish Like a Dragon Ishin, and I've been dabbling with Fire Emblem 4 and Star Field will most likely be my big winter break game

So this is probably a summer 2024 game most likely, but we'll see

Glad I got my Steam Deck set up to play XBox Cloud Gaming so I can play Sea of Stars with Game Pass. Seems like a perfect game for handheld.

I've never had a gameboy but this looks right up my alley.

I've gotten to the first big plot point last night around midnight or so, I'm about 12 hours in roughly. Only had 1 tpk so far. Does anyone know if using the relics/artifacts affects achievements at all? I ended up turning on the relic that gives you a confirmation of timing your hit/block correctly as I was having a hard time with one of the later party members animations.

I have the relics off but from looking at the trophy list, I don't think it would impact it but I could be wrong.

It sounds strange but I spent VERY little time in the specific gaming forums on the GameWinners website, even though I also play tonnes of video games like everyone else there... But I played a hell of a lot of Golden Sun, many many times, absolutely loved it. I'm about 1.5-2 hours in now as well, and it reminds me of GS when I run about in an area and such. I hope (and of course they will) the puzzles get much harder and stay in that sorta GS style...

I often look for legitimate ways to buy GS but never can.

A complete playthrough, blind that is, was about 45 hours. My friend already has all but 1 achievement which will be about another 7 hours ish, have to beat 10 bosses with a challenge relic on.

With that said she also takes a lot of time to backtrack and find all the chests and things, so a more casual playthrough might be more like 30-35?

I'm not sure what to compare this game to - it's like a blend of a bunch of old school games. I'm still really loving it though.

Hard to tell how deep I am, it says 9 hours but I consistently step away for chunks of time without turning it off.

I went back to the beginning and went into the Solstice Chamber thingy on the way. Then I went to the next island place basically, and it's the first part where it's not been blatantly obvious what to do... But I only spent about 5 mins "stuck". I'll get another hour in in a couple hours.

I haven’t played much either (or at least as much as I wanted to, been busy) but I think I’m just in front of you… I’m not gonna say anything to find how close we are because I don’t want to ruin even the smallest cutest thing.

My game crashed in what was probably the longest period I had in the game without saving. So I had to redo the big boss of the area you’re in, but get to relive a lot of quite nice moments.

I’m doing side quests now. I’ve been told I can go to the boss man’s place to deal with him, and was about 30 hours in when that happened.

The puzzles were too easy, the end was not enough. Liked it otherwise.

I'm not sure how close I am but I'm guessing a ways to go. I'm about an hour past unlocking the 5th character.

Some of the puzzles were "challenging" for me but that's solely cause I forgot about certain mechanics.

I almost picked this up, but I think Im going to wait until it's like 15 or less. Seeing enough reviews of the story and characters being kind of lack luster and that is why I play JRPGs.

I wish I could read the spoilers but I'm behind all you guys. In a clocktower, 5 characters. I've really turned my opinion on the 4th character and prefer to keep her in there when possible. Not super keen on the 5th besides the ability to condense the enemy party and then crush them with spread attacks.

Yeah definitely don't read the spoilers with where you are.

Char 4 is definitely strong.

I didn't like char 5 initially but that ability to group enemies together comes in REALLY helpful later. The ultimate is really nice for boss fights too.

I also do a lot of in battle swapping now depending on the situation.

I genuinely loved the whole game. My favourite game I've played in a while.
