I mean it's not technically gaming news, but, this feels pretty significant? Particularly given the nature of GameWinners, and now all of us here at GWF using message board software in the year 2023.

But also, especially considering how important GameFAQs was, and still is for past generation consoles, and the fact that the oft-maligned Fandom now owns the website. Archives exist, but, if there's something over yonder you would hate to lose access to... just a casual reminder that nothing lasts forever.

Article:
Howdy all. Just a quick message to let everyone know that I'll be stepping down as an Admin for GameFAQs as I've decided to part ways with Fandom.

I've enjoyed my time working on this site and I'll stick around as a Moderator for now and to offer whatever knowledge I can to those still working on the site, but after 20 long years I just don't enjoy things like I used to and need to find some new challenge to tackle.

Thanks everyone, I'll still be around, possibly more as I move back down to a user rather than an Admin. Looking forward to seeing where things go for the site in the future.

I prefer these to youtube videos
I can't stand video guides for games, personally. By their nature it takes an order of magnitude more time to get what I want from them, even with timestamps available, than it would to simply Ctrl+F a .txt or .html file and immediately get the gist.

And yet somehow, video guides are still more preferable than trying to trawl through Reddit or Google searches. The latter especially always brings up websites that have individual "articles" for each question/topic/whatever, which is at least 85% fluff words and probably filled to the brim with ads.
I wouldn't personally know anything about the ads, haven't seen one in over a decade and this isn't going to change no matter how awful you make the experience, Fandom, YouTube, et al lol

Thats the stupid google search algorithm, its why any recipe you come across has a time wasting and pointless story of their gran and how she made the recipe
