Multi Rage Inducing Moments

Just earlier today, I was playing some Binding of Isaac and running some Tainted Lost to try to get a Greedier run done. Those who don't know, Tainted Lost is a character that dies in 1 hit and you only get one Holy Card consumable item at the start that gives you one extra hit you can take. The character flies and has better starting stats, but it's still HARD.

After some bad runs and restarting bad starts, the silver item room is a Stapler. Very nice. The store had a half price Mom's Ring. Okay, not horrible. I did my normal waves and go grab it. The rune that dropped was Soul of Eden. Well, that's very nice for the pennies on the next floor. The item that replaced the ring is Chaos. đź‘€ I grab a key into the other item room. It's a Steam Sale. At this point it's looking already like a fabulous run. I go grab chaos, finish the boss waves and the extra one and the devil deal is Crickets Head. Amazing.

Next floor. Immediately to the right, we get a D20. The run is basically over. It's done. I can cheese the ever living hell out of this even if it takes an hour to become invincible. In the shop, nothing interesting and no battery charges, but there's a battery beggar. I was too involved with the D20 and the notion of winning already and forgot the other item room. I grab a key, go in, and there's Sacred Orb. At this point, this has to be among the absolute best Greedier starts you can have! I grab that, go to the shop, spend a couple pennies to reroll everything, and there's Magic Mush, Apple, and Booger Tears. Absolutely nuts!

I finish the normal waves, got unlucky to get hit ones, but there's many coins and many D20 hits to go. First one was okay. Some chests, a nickle, and other random things. I grab what I want, and go into the beggar. Then it dawns me that there was the reroll machine, so I just reroll it until I amusingly get an R key. That doesn't matter though, but there is a battery now for sale, so I can almost 100% go infinite now. I grab a battery, go D20, grab some coins, open chest, grab a battery, and so on. The normal things. Couple tarot cards I pop, golden bombs, golden keys. It's all going Millhouse. Then... Out of seemingly nowhere in the most unforeseen way, disaster struck. The culprit for the beginning of my demise was a rune. The Soul of Lillith.

... how can the Soul of Lillith ruin a run? It's a free familiar for you. That should be another item for you to make things easier. Yeah, so I thought. What happened was that the familiar it spawned was a Coin Bum...

So yeah. That mofo started to eat my money and even with me running in and our of the room to try to keep him from grabbing it all as I quickly try to pop chest and grab nickles, dimes and useful things, the bastard was just too meticulous. I don't recover, get to only 20ish coins with a bunch of consumables. I do get another Holy Card for that extra hit, but that's it. So I just hard to skip to the next floor and try my best with this.

And it was a washout from there on. The bum kept grabbing my money on most of the waves as the enemies spawned often on top of the coins. Nothing I could do. I got through a couple floors until I get hit in the womb floor and am down to just 1 hit now. No shop rerolls helped, no defensive items anywhere, so finally on the Shoul floor there was too many enemies spawning and one of them was an explody lad that spawned too close to me and I died.

So that was my most recent very upsetting gaming moment. What do y'all got to share?

...I have literally no idea what any of that means. It sounds awful and controller smashing worthy, though!

Have I posted the true final boss for Drakengard 3 on GWF yet? I feel like I probably have, but I simply can't be bothered to check. So here, have this. This is rage and despair incarnate. You miss a single note, you die. There's no skipping anything, you repeat absolutely every piece of this every time. Nothing in the rest of the game plays anything remotely like this.

Armored Core 6 is just poorly balanced Soulsborne masquerading as an Armored Core game for the most part, and I've ranted about it a fair bit in the thread. :chuckle

Couple months back, I decided to go back and finish up with SoulCalibur V. That game has the most blatant input reading and aggressively overpowered AI opponents I've ever seen, and there's no fun to be had anywhere.

And before that, uh... I probably have to go all the way back to October/November of 2022, with Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution. Which was less rage or frustration, and more just tedium from constantly battling meta decks (many of which are blatantly illegal even within the game's own ruleset) and having to grind for cards. As you do.

I had a long rest in Baldurs Gate 3, and I had a weird nauseated side effect afterwards. I used a half eaten apple to rest so I figured that was why, and reloaded to right before the long rest so I could toss that food and use something else instead.

And that's when I learned my previous save was a lot longer ago than I realized AND the effect was because of something I did during the day and not the food I used to rest, so I replayed a bunch of the game just to end up with the same status effect I was trying to avoid.

I was considering explaining things too, but I was still upset about it at the time. Those in the know, know. That's plenty enough.

And during the weekend I finished all of the things on that character in a relatively straightforward fashion. No cockups this time.

Have I posted the true final boss for Drakengard 3 on GWF yet?
Indo not remember, though I was never that much into Yoko Taro BS other than what I absorbed through others complaining and revering Yoko Taro BS. Therefore I know all that and more about Drakengard, Nier, and for whatever the fuck, FF14 as well.

That sucks. I've done similar a couple times where I had to treck back like 2 hours if gameplay due to something stupid happening or dying somehow. I'm much better now with quick saves so that helps a bunch.

There are some apples in the game that might end up messing you up like that if eaten during rest. I'm kind of curious to go try them.

Here's another one from a few months ago: I was playing Boyfriend Dungeon, and somehow ended up with a bleed effect (losing 1 HP every few seconds, which is a lot in that game) after going on a date. At first I thought it was story related, then I became convinced it was a glitch. I was talking to my friend about it, and the conversation went like this:
Her: Did you ever figure out what was going on with that bleed?
Me: No! Luckily I found this cool hat that gave me 3x damage, or I never would've been able to finish the game.
Her: What's the downside?
Me: What?
Her: It wouldn't give you 3x damage at no cost, so what's the trade-off?
Me: Idk, it didn't say anything but 3x damage. It does look kinda silly because it's a parasite biting your head?
Her: ....
Me: What?!
Her: Do you think maaaybe that's related to your bleed?
Me: ... Well NOW I do.

So I beat multiple levels and bosses in that game with a bleed that kills you within a minute or two because I was somehow too oblivious to connect "I put a parasite on my head" and "I'm now constantly taking damage" together.

I want y'all to remember this the next time you think I'm being intentionally oblivious to hinting in Wolf.

My fits of rage are every dark souls and borne game.

Ive recently been testing my luck ad the demon souls remake and it's beautiful. But the damage to my control is real.

However I have been brutally fighting myself on the dead space remake. It's frustrating but so rewarding. I love it so.

I've watched a friend play that and that seems like a good description of it. It doesn't look fun.
I legitimately don't know who it's trying to appeal to. Besides "not me." :chuckle

They're doing post-launch buffs and nerfs to parts too, ostensibly because of the multiplayer/PvP side, and that... probably isn't going to help things any? Like the first handful of bosses will be (/are) considerably easier due to blanket buffs, but others significantly harder as they systematically target "overpowered" weapons for nerfs.
