Quagmire's Not Benzine Not Ben Not Kat Not Local Not Zell wolf brainstorming, help needed!

I have wanted to run a game, but wanted to make sure I had enough experience and time in order to know how to hide my mistakes not mess up.

I am going to run a game either starting end of next week or week after, but I want to make it a little more festive and a little more me. I am thinking of switching it to Die Hard with a lot of similar roles from Wolf converted to roles that thematically make sense. I also want to make some tweaks so that some characters from the movie are better represented.

So in typing this draft, I had a Gavin Belson moment and have already decided what I will do. I will keep roles the same name, but I want to bring in some tweaks and/or new roles inspired by Die Hard (or just my own ideas) and I'll sprinkle in Die Hard and Festive flair during the write ups. (I originally was gonna rename everyone as CHARACTER the ROLE [i.e. Hans Gruber the Alpha Wolf] that way you could use names you were used to, but realized that would require me to come up with Characters for a lot of extra roles so to not tip my hand at which roles were present in the game)

Inspired roles/tweaks

John McClaine
, obviously. I thought about tweaking gunner or detective at first, but I feel he almost deserves two lives, or maybe a spin on Tough Guy where he survives until end of the next day? Or maybe Doctor, yes he kills a lot, but overall he saves a lot of people. Maybe make him Vigilante they get a gun or can protect but they have to choose the night before. Limit two bullets, but unlimited protection targets and can be used twice before he dies. (also could be a good idea to spin as solo NV that wins with the town)

Sgt. Al Powell I think could make a good gunner tweak, keep with two shots, and if either of those shots kills an innocent he retires his gun and retires from the game. He isn't dead, but can't be killed and doesnt count towards win ratio, but can unretire on the condition he chooses to save someone from a lynch. Will not be able to use a remaining bullet.

Holly: Not sure, maybe detective or warden? She's not totally helpless in the movie, and she is pretty aware of what's going on and how to try and make the best out of the bad and gets the people things they need .Maybe she could be a Resupplier and can make two resupplies on the condition that the person has already used up all their powers and can only do it once per day. Sent via PM at night. Though means game and roles with supplies last more than a couple days

Hans Gruber. Alpha wolf seems best bet, but I want to give him some sort of tweak. I was thinking about giving the Alpha a choice on night 0, decide to either show up as good (instead of unknown), but I need at least another choice. At first I was thinking they could activate a misread on a random night, but that seems like such a long shot, a binary choice at the start of power 1 or power 2 seems more fun. Maybe choose one of, Good aura or 2 attacks to be killed, or doubles another baddie's skill so they get two.

Non Die hard related ideas
Goose
(Solo), not exactly sure what I want for a goose role, at first I thought they could honk at a player at night causing that person to either be unable to use powers for the following Day Night cycle. Win condition, win in a king maker situation of no more than one person of every team left. I thought about something really random, like honks the strongest remaining player of each team, might be too OP near the end of the game so maybe if they are super lucky and honk both highest ranked character on each team? (second situation means if the strongest person is killed before honked, this condition can't be met)

Could just make the goose like the vampire in Local's game and they get to go full murder bird

I have also thought of a Machine Gunner role, similar to gunner, but they have unlimited bullets (one a day still), but if they kill a townie, they then commit Seppuku in disgrace. Very high risk but also high reward. Or maybe I make that a Samurai role, XXXX slices YYYY, can be used once a day but if they kill a townie, they commit seppuku which makes more sense than a guy with a gun (and less gunners)

Feedback? Ideas to add to this? Also any tweaks you all would like to see some of the roles? I like roles that have choices to approach and can be high risk but also high reward. Is a townie who has unlimited kills (one a day), but if they kill one of their own, they also die too powerful? I feel like it has the right amount of risk and reward. One action can cost the town two players.
