No, this isn't an early Halloween thread. I'm just wondering what you all have been doing online, since GW fizzled out and died. Did you all go to other forums, social media, or anything like that? Or did you drop off the face of the bulletin board world, until now?

Personally, I started transitioning across to SomethingAwful in 2011 (courtesy of Tommy Boy, aka The One True Tommy) and have basically kept on doing what I've always done, except there instead of GW - i.e. making bad, sometimes rather corny posts about games and other fun things. Plus using plenty of :D smilies, of course! :D :raspberry
I also joined FB a bit before that (maybe...2010?) but really, for the most part I consider social media to be quite garbage compared to forums. Memes and IM with friends are the only thing holding it together IMO.

Aside from that, hard to say. I've been in a bunch of Discord servers here and there over the years, plus I've joined other forums now and again - usually for a specific reason and then never again. So aside from SA being a 'GameWinners away from GameWinners' for me, I've had a distinctly GW-shaped hole in my online life. I do like how GW has always been pretty close-knit compared to other forums I've seen, even during our peak. The closest I've found to groups like PIMI is the Imp Zone on SA, but even then, it's not the same! GW is pretty one-of-a-kind!

I reddit, not as actively as I was on GW, but not insignificant either.

I'm in several Discords including having my own fairly successful one. (And just FYI to anyone reading this, if you are interested I'll always invite more people. There's a bunch of GW people, a few Goons, a bunch of random gamer friends I have and some IRL friends. it's not just GW but it's a cool place sometimes.)

I've bounced around a lot of forums since GW shuttered. I found a home in a few different places, even have a small forum of my own that a very small group of people actually enjoy, lol, but I've kept my hands in forums this whole time. Going on about 26 years in total, including my pre-GW stomps, I just plain love forums :D

I've been using reddit since 2008. I ended up having to abandon my original account after deleting every comment and post. Ex went crazy. I switched to my throwaway account and scrub comments somewhat regularly. I stick to smaller subreddits. Back in 2010-2012 I went to a few reddit meetups.

No forums since GWPS except for a spin off forum called the game collecting network made by a group of guys I met on /r/gamecollecting and the corresponding IRC chatroom. I used to go to thrift stores and buy retro video games. I have since sold most of my collection, but back then we did trades. That didn't last very long, about 18 months 2013-2014.

I was a forum nut for a good 10+ years.

I use discord mainly just for playing games with friends. A ventrilo or teamspeak replacement.
