4787024566050503Anyone on this? Trading is set to open in January, and I’ve got about 85% of the genetic apex booster packs. Looking to build up some trading friends, not much of a PVP person.

Same. Sounds cool but I'm a TCG noob and I don't know how much time I want to sink into ~new thing~can you sell me hard on this? i play too many card games/games as is
sink is the right word for these things too. but i love cards.Same. Sounds cool but I'm a TCG noob and I don't know how much time I want to sink into ~new thing~

Long story short: It's a relaxing take on what is typically seen as a very stressful and expensive hobby. I don't play mobile games really, and I'd barely consider this one. It's like a virtual collection. You don't need to pay any money in, you can play for free forever and slowly build up your decks. Battling is optional and you can even turn on auto-battle and just watch. I really enjoy the feeling of opening a new booster pack - it's nostalgic to a degree. The haptic feedback of sliding your finger across the top to open them is a great touch that adds that feeling of opening a real booster pack.Same. Tap on booster, tap on booster again, choose pack, open pack, view each card individually, swipe up to log cards in card dex, see them appear in card dex, get some info, return to main page. It's a lot to do so little :/I feel the slowness is currently fine, as you really don't so much there anyways. It's 70% just waiting and opening packs and the rest is the card game, if you even bother.
I agree that there's a lot of flash for not a lot of happening. I opened as many packs as I could using the hour-faster things from leveling up, and after like 2 packs I was just skipping all the screens. Could probably use an option to just skip those.Tap on booster, tap on booster again, choose pack, open pack, view each card individually, swipe up to log cards in card dex, see them appear in card dex, get some info, return to main page. The UI just feels so bloated. Kinda like every single new Windows UI. It doesn't add anything worthwhile -- just another than a performance bump to your PC.
Just my opinion, of course.
This is my worry, that it's just riddled with those "hey, impatient buddy, don't you want this faster for just $9.99?"I'm at about 3 weeks with 640 something cards. Got 195 cards out of the total of 280ish? I did use the free 2 weeks of premium to help get some more that way.
Oh, anyone wanting to do that, I would suggest popping it on the last day of the current event period. (See the premium mission section for dates.) You still can fill the requirements for all those tasks without having the premium so when you get it on the last day you can just redeem them all. And you have basically the whole two weeks for the next one.
I totally agree. It's still new, so I'm in for the ride to see if it will become something or sputter out. I never really got into the Pokémon GO phase when everyone else did. I tried it for a few days but lost interest. This has been easier to just go check out for like 20 mins a day - but like you said, it's a lot of flair and waiting around for nothing lol.Tap on booster, tap on booster again, choose pack, open pack, view each card individually, swipe up to log cards in card dex, see them appear in card dex, get some info, return to main page. I used my monthly video game budget on this game in November, so I used real people money (GASP! I know.) It was a one time gold purchase on top of the premium pass, but I haven't put any money in since, and don't plan to again. The rush of dopamine was quickly quelled by the realization that I'm trying to get cards faster for no reason. Virtually everyone I know and anyone around me are like 400+ cards behind me. So, I had my own internal discussion on how I'm going to be a good and not be a bad, and not do any more money lmfao.@Tommy Boy How long have you been playing this? I got to level 4 after doing everything I could and have 83 cards. You're level 20 and have like, 980 cards.
Sounds similar to MTGO/MTG Arena. I'm sorry to hear that!I know you guys are probably enjoying it, but sorry I'm legally required to be a little bitchy hater anytime someone brings up this game because of my specific TCG experience. Me and my buddy used to play Pokemon TCG Online together, which was a really good (though extremely dated) app that was sunset last year. What they replaced it with was a new one called Pokemon TCG Live, which originally looked like it'd be fine, and you could transfer all your cards to it from the old game.
Problem is, none of the cards from Black & White or X & Y are implemented until a TBD update, and anything older isn't supported anymore. It's been a year and a half since the game's release and this update still hasn't happened. Legacy and Theme formats were removed. (I previously liked playing Theme against randos online because it felt more fair). But more importantly, you can't battle your friends in Expanded format. Your decks have to align with the super restrictive Standard rules even though you can play against randos in Expanded. So basically all our old cards and decks we had collected over the years are being held hostage until they decide to finish the game.
TL;DR the sudden release and popularity of Pocket feels like a huge slap in the face as I'm waiting for the other game to be fixed, and I'm a bitter baby about it and don't want to play this one because it's not the same.
Oh wow... that would send me into a blind rage. My condolences. Fuck I’m kind of sad I missed out on the other game but it sounds like I’m almost better off after @The Flame ’s experience.yeah i was wondering what happened to TCGO. when i was briefly really into collecting about ten years ago it was really cool how each pack came with a code you could redeem for the same type of pack in the online game. the iOS app for TCGO was also perfectly passable as long as you were playing on like an ipad or something. based on what i've seen from TCGP it seems like a massive downgrade in favor of flashy UI elements and dopamine checks
That's shiny.
Yeaaaa. I've been slacking too. I try to get on it at least once a day, but even that hasn't worked. That's shiny.
I also already fell off remembering about this game at all and haven't done anything with it in about a week, so I'd say the chances of it grabbing me long-term isn't high.
