What do you think of paparazzi photographers?

Are they scumbags? Should they leave celebrities alone? Are they harassing these people?

That gets sketchy when you’re in the public domain. Wearing a bodycam back in the day meant I had to learn those kinda laws… basically, if you’re in public, you’re fair game.

HOWEVER, harassment is a thing. Following, tracking, or otherwise impeding on or interfering with someone’s day to day life is against the law.

The problem is two-fold…

Half of these celebrities have agents and publicists that tip off paparazzi, remember… there’s no such thing as bad press. So what if your teen starlet has a coke problem? You’re getting your cut from her regardless, if she’s in rehab… you don’t have to do much but prepare a statement or two.

The paparazzi, especially companies like TMZ, have wallets deep enough to fight those cases… and have lawyers litigating shit 24/7 for them already. It’s like suing Walmart… they’ll offer you a measly settlement to shut you up, and if you don’t take it… they’ll bankrupt you with court costs and retainers.

It depends on how much tin foil you wanna wrap your head up in. Some say it was a targeted incident covered up by blaming them, some say it was exactly how it was played in the media at the time… photographers chasing them through the tunnel to get the shot.
