I'm seeing new posts in the middle of threads while catching up on Wolf again. So either some change you made to fix the other issues also broke that again, or it's something to do with long and/or active threads.

I wonder if, as a workaround, instead of preventing the posts from popping up, we could just make it more obvious somehow that they're new posts? Like making them a different color or putting a banner on them or something. That would prevent confusion in long, active threads and still allow it to work the same otherwise.

Ok, I think we're going to completely disable the real time stuff for now. It's just a problem, nothing more. As much as I enjoy it, it's not useful in the larger threads and it can't be deactivated on a per-thread or per-forum basis.

Edit -- done, it's disabled for now until the developer can further refine this technology.

It never actually stopped for me (I also see a bunch of duplicate posts too). Hopefully the disable will stop that.

I started seeing duplicates too when the Wolf thread got really crazy, which I hadn't seen happen before.

Those duplicates you’re seeing *should* vanish by the time you exit out of the thread and enter it again. I’ve experienced this issue before, and sometimes refreshing doesn’t correct it, but the first method does.

Not that it matters now, but… for the sake of wondering if they stick around, they should not.

Hopefully the developer can fix this ASAP so we can re-introduce this properly.

Yeah, but it’s a luxury function, thankfully. If this is one modern convenience we have to sacrifice to have all the capabilities these forums have now, that’s not really so bad.
