Hasbro Seeks to Sell IP "DND" and Has Had Preliminary Contact with Tencent - Pandaily

American toy company Hasbro is seeking to sell its well-known IP "Dungeons & Dragons", and Tencent is one of the potential buyers.

I'm sure this constant sequence of Big Fish Bigger Fish in every aspect of gaming isn't going to end poorly at all.

I hate the whole acquisition thing that has come standard.

I wish people could play games no matter their system.

That said, Tencent intrigues me as they also own a minority share of FromSoftware too.

I'm not sure I'm happy or sad about this news. Hasbro owns a lot of good IPs and if they sell to a company willing to invest in the expansion of the IP, it could be good. But most of the time these sales end badly.

Then I would be remiss if I didn't mention the recent stories that they have been very disappointed in their video gaming division of late.

Hasbro realized their ploy to lock down the rights to DnD was not going to legally fly and now sees no upside to owning it.
