Multi Games you mix up

Hearing about Hollow Knight Silk Song, it got me realizing reading the comments it isnt a sequel to Shovel Knight, but instead a game called Hollow Knight. Apparently I unknowingly didnt realize Hollow Knight was different than Shovel Knight.

I also still get Outworlds and Outerwilds mixed up

Im sure I've had others, but these are the first two that jump out at me.

What about you all?

This answer might be cheating, but there are definitely series of games where I remember essentially nothing about them despite playing multiple games, and even if I did remember a particular sequence, I couldn't attribute it to a specific game. For example, Assassin's Creed 2, Brotherhood and Revelations: I couldn't tell you which game has which parts. Same deal with COD MW2 and MW3 (the first MW was quite memorable though).

This is even more true for many of the 2D Super Mario games I've played. Sometimes I hear of a new one, begin playing it, and realize that it's one I've already played but with a different title for some reason.

Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime.
That was a pretty fun game. Tricky though.

I don't know that I get games mixed up all that often... Maybe between older titles like Quake and Unreal Tournament that were very similar to each other. I bet I couldn't tell you what freaking number Call of Duty something was after the first 3. The last one I remember playing was Blops, but I've got no memory of what was different between that and the Modern Warfare ones.

Omg bro you NEED to play Hollow Knight.

I mix up all the CoD games, but that's only because there's about 20 of them and I stopped paying attention after CoD 4

I'm sure I have examples for this, but can't really think of any. I have a friend who is constantly going on about my need to play Outer Wilds and I own Outerworlds, so I do at least know the difference between them.

Taking Spiner's example a little further, there are series where I just don't have a clue what's going on with the different games and what they relate to, such as Persona. I recognise the chronological games, but then there's games like Strikers and I just don't even know if that's the same genre. But that's because I haven't played the series at all.

I feel like I'm close to coming up with an example to this, but can't right now.
