Milestone First GW Campaign Completed!

[A Fifth of a Million]

Not sure how many people outside of the DnD forum are aware of this, but we were finally able to complete the first GW Campaign! It launched just over a year ago, and we battled through thick an thin, and had a few close calls with death, but all original party members (plus an additional 2 latecomers) were able to survive to the finish and slay the dragon in the end.

It took a lot to even get the forums set up to run a campaign successfully, so much thanks to this goes to both @VashTheStampede and @Ben

Ben also did a great job at being DM, which was obviously a lot of work. I know Vash is planning on kicking off another campaign again soon, and hopefully that one is able to get through it all as well.

Congrats to Ben and Vash for getting it all set up, and congrats to Ben to being able to get through the extremely difficult job of hosting a full fledged campaign on a forum that wasn't initially built to handle it.

It was immeasurably fun trying to fuck with your morals and emotions with shit like Carl, or Mek and Minn. Honestly all of the stuff I added myself was the most fun for me, as opposed to the adventure as written... I think I needed that for the structure of knowing what to do to keep it processing, but the spice like Varnoth's stand against the kobold was what kept it interesting. Owlbear stuff too, you shits weren't supposed to ride it but fuck it that was fun. Telepathic myconid messages were fun but harder than I thought to pull off, actually getting something that conveyed the message with no words.

D&D be fun, yo.

Maybe now Zell's work made me understand the API integration more, maybe I'll put my time into perking up that forum and adding some stuff. I'll have to go over it anyway for upgrade reasons, so may as well think about new features too.

Like, mouse-over item/skill tooltips, or a more integrated dice roller. I'd love to be able to just write [1d4+2], and it generate a roll with that setup. If I could rig that up like a reaction to a post, so it records whoever clicks it's result, that would be neat...

But I'm a forgetful ape so I just deposit part of my paycheck directly into her account to help with the bills she pays, etc. I do the same with my ex, for my oldest son. Then the rest is mine to squander with the utmost frivolity.

Moonsprout being wild right away gave me great reason to try to up my narrative game. Probably right at the start when you just stuck your face into the flowers rather than fighting, and I had to make a silly reason.

I was really hoping to use that magical dick dagger's stopping power to prevent Aims from attacking more randos as part of my character arc, but it never came up

One of my favorite things was Moonsprout convincing the seagulls to help us against the zombies. also flicking the zombie nipple into the distance was great.

Also when Ben tried to kill Moonsprout multiple times only for nat20s to save him from things like the cliff breaking away and the bridge disappearing. lol

I liked when Short Order and Moonsprout were playing around in the sand while the others we investigating boats. Short Order was making some goods and art in there rather than murdering.

For a good while I was thinking whether or not outright tell everyone else Ben is doing that with me, but I chose to have Aims act out being weirder than usual. And even after that whether to tell about it or not. I chose not to in the end. Seemed better that way.
