Got a Lego Piranha Plant already a few days ago. Built it and it's chilling on top of my desk. Very good.

Assorted cheapish tools from the kids. I guess a set of pliers don't have to be super good to work? I got them I guess. \

A pair of gloves, sweat shirt, pair of joggers, a nice warm shirt, and plenty of assorted candy.

Also earlier today I found out that I won a Steamdeck from a crimbo giveaway. Pretty sweet.

Myself, I got
  • A 32" curved monitor
  • New PS5 controller.
  • Sweater
  • BG3 Scratch & Owlbear t-shirt.
  • Mug my son painted.
I can't even fathom all the stuff I got other people. Tons of Spider-Man stuff for my youngest, my daughter got a realistic doll that I hate, my oldest got parts for his first PC. Got the wife Ticket To Ride, which we're about to play now. The vacation rental was a big part of our gift to the rest of the family though.

Beard kit
Chocolates and sweets
Cash

I gifted:
Paints + brushes travel set

Animal Crossing Switch
A collection of Christmas Carol DVDs (my dad loves these movies)

@Fool's Requiem this man is just copying the gifts we got

I’ve never seen two people claim to get a soldering gun

Haha thats funny, I skimmed the posts but I missed the soldering gun.

Did you start Zelda yet? Enjoying it? I probably won't start to play mine for a week or two since I'm a bit busy.

@Fool's Requiem Any soldering experience? What projects do you have planned?

Yeah I started it off and will play over the next few games. So far so good. I like puzzles. I also partially got it cause I think my wife will love it and I’m trying to make her play more games instead of watching so much tv.

I got my son the literal Zelda game for his birthday back in September. He enjoyed it, but I haven't tried it myself yet.

From what I know there's at least some "Hyrule Engineers" reddit community for its copy mechanics and stuff, and building things was a big part of why I enjoyed Tears of the Kingdom, so it might be fun just for that!

I have some experience. I need to make mods/repairs to some video game systems and controllers.

Wife and I got each other new toothbrushes from the future. They have an app to let me know how bad I am at this. :chuckle Prepare to be ultra-clean, teeth!!!
I don't like the One. Third party brush heads don't seem to exist yet. The battery indicator is a liar, and the battery drains super quick compared to other versions. It also gives me a sarcastic smirk when I turn it off before I get to two minutes. I turned the Bluetooth feature off with the hope that it doesn't drain the battery as much.

you're the man

in nz we call them soldering irons. i don't know if this is an nz thing or just another benzine went to a weird school thing, but we spent a fair bit of time using them on various projects. i'm not very good with them though - my dex/stability is lacking for that sorta thing.

I don't know why I called it a gun. They do have guns, but I need the iron. I bought a cheap one that had no stable stand nor temp control thinking "I'm not going to be doing any big work." The iron didn't heat up for shit. So, when my folks ask what I wanted, I said "soldering iron with temp control and a stable stand." They got me that, as well as a stand+magnifying glass for smaller jobs and wire-to-wire soldering.

Yeah that's probably right. I got a soldering iron, not a soldering gun. I'm sure FR did too

I’d be lying if I said I know slightly more than jack shit about PC building, but I can’t imagine a gun would be easier or more effective than an iron. You get a finer level of precision with an iron, but it’s a bigger learning curve.

I got a lego Piranha Plant too. Did it last night and it looks pretty cool. Might be my favorite one I've done. Didn't expect it to double as a bank which is kinda cool. Really running out of places to put all my decorative shit though. I have way too many plushies of Mario characters and stuff.
Some sort of Pikachu model kit.
Glow in the dark Pokemon jigsaw puzzle from the Sun & Moon era.
Vox Machina Origins I & II book. Heard the early ones weren't so great but I've always wanted to get into the comics. Critical Role is like my favorite show and they put out a ton of them.
Avatar the Last Airbender: The Search. Finally finished the show recently so now I'm going through the comics before I check out Korra.
Slippers

Probably the first year where I didn't get a single video game or gift card for a video game since I was a kid. Did pick up Hitman World of Assassination from the Steam sale though since it was like 3 bucks. I'm sure I'll get around to playing it in about 8 years.

I actually got the Lego Pirahna Plant last year, and for some reason I just put the box on a shelf and never built it...

I'll have to do that and join the club when I'm back home. Though I'm also running out of space for my lego stuff.

Now I'm back home, one of the things I got the wife was a set of dice, chain mail dice bag, a tower, and a miniature elf ranger.

Of course, wife didn't seem to gather why it came in bubble wrap, so just dropped it into a gift bag, where I found it snapped off at the feet. I'll glue it back, but still, grumble.

I got some D&D blind bag in my stocking stuff, which was a random monster encounter with a pin and die. I got a Xorn.

The pin doubles as a miniature.

I did get a sweet red and gold die, but traded it with my son, who got a Wererat.
