We didn't start putting ours up until last weekend, but my daughter had a blast cramming just about every ornament she could find onto the tree. There are about 12 stockings around it, as the past few years I couldn't find them and just bought new ones, and this year found all of them... 🤷‍♂️

I've been having fun moving our elf around, and my daughter loses her mind every time she finds him. Yesterday he was eating an Oreo in her doll house, so she insisted on giving him a small glass of milk to go with it (it wasn't out all night.)

I did definitely find out that my weak attempt to fence off the tree hasn't stopped my cat from eating it... 🐱

More stockings, more places for gifts to appear, the logic is sound. :D It's a lovely tree and fence, she should be proud!

Not gonna lie, Elf creeps me the fuck out. If dolls were randomly moving around my house, I'd be inclined to set it on fire. I hated dolls as a child (but did regularly play with my brothers' handed down action figures, weird). So your child wins generosity award for milk and not fire :raspberry

I don't feel the need to play up the whole "Santa's snitch" angle of it, just trying to create some whimsy. It's been the very first thing she wants to look for when she gets up before school, though, which is a change from the usual "uuuuugh it's too bright" blanket monster I have most mornings.

Oh there very much is.

The green/gold "animals" you see are actually spray painting toys from when my wife and I were kids. We are also animal people and have collected new ornaments we like as the years go by.

It's a big hit with our family members that have kids too.

Also.
Yes, the tree topper is a spray painted TRex with wings and a santa hat.

Here's a closer look:

This is awesome and I may steal this tree-topper idea...

🤣 damn bro that Trex is epic. I couldn't make out at first glance if it was a phoenix, a condor, or some kind of dino head. The gold really seals the deal. Very nice, this is a real beauty!

Are there stories behind any of your toy choices? I feel like there would be too many to choose from!

I love all the little details and how you carefully made each item fit the aesthetic. I feel like my tree growing up was a mishmash of extremely weird stuff and homemade stuff most of which did not go together at all lol

This is the first Christmas were the little dude really understands what's going on. Every night before bed now he'll watch Santa's webcam for awhile. No elf in our house this year, thankfully
Damn another goodie, I feel like you have a designer tree :D Nice moody photos, are you a photographer?

We let the 6 year old decorate the tree even before we'd finished setting it up, she was so thrilled with how it looked that we just left it as is. Behold, the perfect tree.

I love the perspective shift. Sometimes I like to lay on the ground and try to see how Chii experiences things lol, I feel like this is the same. That tippy top looks so far away!

lol, she tried so hard to reach the top, even with help she couldn't quite do it, but we got one close! :D
Thank you both for the compliments!
:)

I love seeing the rest of your trees. It's a weird Christmas for me but it's helping to get into the Christmas spirit.
I totally understand, anything to bring the vibes helps. I'm glad we can all share Christmas together, as a group ❤️
Well since others have shared their unconventional trees, here's mine that's been up for two years and a bunch of the lights are burned out. (The boxes on the floor just to the left of it are new lights I got a couple days ago, but I haven't gotten around to putting them on yet.)

It has no ornaments because my cats kept knocking them all off.
It has no ornaments, but it has character!

Not to cause you more trauma, but moving this little fuck around has been very enjoyable. It's also now the very first thing my daughter thinks of when she gets up and it's made mornings before school slightly easier.

You have decked the halls and the doggo! Excellent work, it's beautiful, and you have gone the extra mile for decor on legs!

I love seeing everyone's various treetoppers. Yours looks amazingly colorful. This tree feels a lot like my tree growing up, a mishmash of all sorts of things 🎄 Though I don't love the nightmare elves :laugh

In other news, I suspect this little shit is up to no good

We have the vaulted ceilings, so I had to get a tall skinny tree. A fatter tree will block walkways. The only downfall is the lights reflect on our tv and drive Vash insane.
Ah, yeah, that can definitely be a nuisance. Sorry, Vash!! The tall skinny tree looks great, it's definitely more practical than the wider ones, I think I might prefer that approach, lol.
The cat is Lord Percival Grumpypants.
Aww, m'lord!
