In just under 2 years, I have managed to overtake Mark yet still be way behind 7 of you.

Now I can be released from my torture of knowing I'm so close to a milestone and having to actively post to hit it. Mmm, sweet familiar apathy, how I've missed thee.

At this rate I won't hit 20,000 until I'm 40.

So I should probably just die now.

I told my wife the other week that I was going to have a mid-life crisis and buy a motorbike, and she just laughed at me.

So I dunno what I'm supposed to do instead. Probably buy jaffa cakes.

Oh I don't have the money for a Corvette.

Internally I feel like a 50cc dirt bike that's been living in a shed for years. Barely serviceable and vastly underwhelming.

Something like that would be used. I personally never buy new cars anyway, since even nearly-new cars are a heavy discount. $90,000 new for a convertible but there are good relatively recent examples for half that or even less.

Also I don't think it would really be a Corvette - they are just the meme car for mid-life crises. I'd probably buy a late 00s Porsche 911 and hopefully sell it for more than I would pay.

I would like to apologize to all the already-40 members I've alienated through the course of this thread.

The height honestly isn't that bad. It's not a short car, just a narrow one.

The main issue is the passengers. The left window doesn't open as the interior is bent a bit for legroom, but there's a more fundamental problem when it comes to gear shifting:

I hope you're familiar with your passenger because if not then 2nd and 4th are trouble!

What is this, a car for ants?!

Grabbing a knob between your mate's legs is some ballsy design.

It's a Kei car. At the time it was made they could only be 1.4m wide. I'm not sure how others got around it but they aren't the most generous of dimensions to work with.

For a single driver, the big problem is that it's by a distance the loudest car I've ever been in. Whilst it's limited to 660cc the engine is right under the seat and indeed is accessed by lifting it. Not only is there basically zero soundproofing you also get a heated seat whether you want it or not.

It is narrow with skinny tyres and handles like shit. I took it on the motorway to see how fast it could go (81 mph with the help of a slope) and it is without doubt the most terrified I've ever been in a car.

Please tell me "cooler volume" is an air conditioner for your nuts

Sadly, no. You can see the vent here behind the top of the wheel. The cooler thing is on the floor presumably to save space. Incidentally you can also see the windscreen washer fluid cap on the dashboard.

That said, I translated the instructions on the cooler volume thing (which I've never done before) and it seems like there's still a bit of smut involved.

We already established the selector cock is between the passenger's legs.
