It's a technical term not usually mentioned using broadcasts. In Canada it's used alongside the air temperature to create the humidex.
In this part of Canada we don't really use humidex either.

I hate summer because it means my AC is running a lot. In my house its either muggy or an icebox. My thermostat is set to 75 and it still feels like I'm freezing whenever the AC is on for an extended period of time.
Maybe try a dehumidifier if it's the humidity and not the temp making you uncomfortable? Although I experience something similar even though we don't have humidity here when it's warm.

They don't usually mention dew points or humidity here either. I only know what the dew point typically is here because I camp a lot and it gets just cold enough overnight for dew to form and make all my stuff wet.

@Smacktard that's fucking absurd. I hope everyone there has reliable a/c
No one doesn't have AC in this company. Except sometimes the shitty vehicles on the road, which is the most insane place to not have AC since your car just becomes an oven, especially sitting parked in the sun.
The humidity reading is way off because that heat index is some 22C higher than ever recorded on Earth. It would be rapidly fatal and above the point where humans cannot thermoregulate as sweat will actually draw energy into the body.
Heat and humidity so high that the calculator broke
